Calcutta University ranks first among all state-run universities

Calcutta University has been ranked at the top of all the state-run universities in India as per the QS Asia University Rankings 2022. On Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, Professor Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee, said that while Calcutta University is ranked first among all state-run universities in India, it occupies the third rank among all the universities in India.

The first position among all the universities went to Delhi University and the second went to Jawaharlal Nehru University, both being the central universities.

In the QS Asia University Rankings 2022, the universities are ranked across 11 parameters including academics and employer reputation, the number of staff having a PhD, and the proportion of students from abroad.
