First Online Question Bank System in Government Universities in India
Kottayam, Nov 28, 2018 - IPSR created history by implementing the first Online Question Bank System in Government Universities for Mahathma Gandhi University in Kerala. QnSmart - the Question Bank System - can support the 10,000+ exams conducted by the University annually and is expected to boost learning outcomes and teaching quality at the university centres and affiliated colleges. “With this computer-assisted system, MGU teachers will be able to channelize assessment to define desired outcomes of a particular course. This is the true purpose of any learning,” said Dr Sabu Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University.
A top NAAC accredited university, MGU has 196 colleges and 2 lakh plus students under its umbrella. The university decided to implement the system for the first time in the third semester UG examinations scheduled for November 2018. The IPSR team trained around 400 teachers to prepare question banks for 300 courses. On November 27, 2018, M.G. University became the first Government University to conduct exams with this kind of software, marking an important milestone in the way exams are conducted in India.
Dr. R. Pragash, Syndicate Member and Exam Sub-committee Convenor of Mahathma Gandhi University who spearheaded this MGU initiative appreciated the support and hard work of the IPSR team. “Their support in this entire process was remarkable. Though we were the main stakeholders in this implementation, they guided us throughout,” he said.
