NAAC to give provisional nod to 20,000 colleges in a yr

NEW DELHI: Unveiling one of the biggest quality assessment accreditation exercises in India, is going to offer provisional accreditation to over 20,000. The aim is to mainstream institutions through the Provisional Accreditation for Colleges that are not eligible to apply for accreditation under the present NAAC norms. At present, NAAC accredits a maximum of 2,000 institutions annually, with the majority of them being repeat institutions…, including standalone institutions in a single year, and scale it to 40,000 institutions by 2023-24.
