UGC urges colleges and universities to Award Degree to Students within 180 days!

New Delhi: UGC issued a new notice to all HEIs to ensure the Award of degrees to all successful candidates within 180- days of the prescribed timeline. The colleges and Universities are also been asked to issue provisional degree certificates along with the final year transcripts to students. In its latest notice, UGC has stated, “Getting a Degree in time after having successfully completed a program is an inviolable privilege of a student”. UGC is getting a lot of complaints from students as the delay causes problems for the students for higher education and employment. UGC also stated that it will take disciplinary action against universities that fail to award degrees in the prescribed timeline by UGC.
