The new University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines allow college students to opt for two degrees simultaneously in line with National Education Policy (NEP) the higher education will bring more flexibility to their higher education

Highlights of the new UGC guidelines regarding pursuing two courses for students as discussed in the virtual meeting are:

  • Students can attend two full-time academic programs in the physical mode without overlapping the class time
  • Students can pursue two UG or PG degrees/diplomas simultaneously in physical+physical mode or physical+online mode or online+online mode.
  • Students can pursue two programs in similar disciplines or different discipline

Some of the other answers to the doubts regarding the new UGC guidelines are as follows

  • while permitting students for two programs, if students enabled for one program apply for the second program, they should be allowed only after giving first priority to students who opted for only one program
  • students can choose either a multidisciplinary Four-year undergraduate program or two-degree programs simultaneously
