Demystifying Outcome Based Education: Insights from the workshop at Gauhati University.

Gauhati University recently made significant strides towards enhancing the quality of Higher Education across the North East region by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IPSR Solutions Limited. This significant agreement designates Gauhati University as a mentor in Outcome Based Education (OBE) for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) throughout the region. Through this MOU, IPSR will be Hand holding Gauhati University to implement Outcome Based Education (OBE) in the right way.

To kickstart this collaboration, a hands-on workshop titled “Demystifying Outcome Based Education” was organised for the faculty Members. Dr Mendus Jacob, Professor and Director, MCA Marian College Kuttikkanam, Autonomous and the MD & CEO of IPSR Solutions Limited was the resource person. The workshop aimed to familiarise them with the principles and practices of OBE as outlined in the MOU. This initiative underscores the University’s commitment to ensuring quality education through structured learning outcomes. 

As part of the MOU, IPSR will provide offline training sessions to faculty members on OBE Methodologies. Additionally, IPSR will guide Gauhati University to generate Attainment Calculation Output Reports for departments and to assess their progress and performance. 

In essence, the partnership between Gauhati University and IPSR Solutions Limited marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of excellence in higher education across the North East region. By embracing Outcome Based Education principles, and providing comprehensive training to faculty and administrative staff, Gauhati University is poised to set new benchmarks for educational quality and effectiveness in the region.
