The Internal Quality Assurance Cell(IQAC) of SES College, Sreekandapuram in association with The Kerala State Higher Education Council Organized one week National Level Online Faculty Development program on Outcome Based Education(OBE) from 18th to 25th January 2022. The Sessions were conducted through live webinars along with hands-on activities through Learning Management Portal(LMS).

Dr.Binu Thomas, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Applications, Marian College, Kuttikkanam(Autonomous)
An Academician with more than 20 years of experience, well versed in OBE and a Resource Person for a number of FDPs in OBE, Innovative Teaching, Learning and Evaluation, Virtual Learning etc.
Dr.Suresh Namboothiri, Founder Member, Espoir Technologies, Pune.
A Product Development Specialist with 30+ years of experience sought after interviewer for senior positions of leading companies, Former COO, Tata motors and part of the team that developed India’s first car Tata Indica.
Dr. Joby Cyriac, IQAC coordinator (Cycle V) and Vice Principal, Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous).
An Academician with more than 20 years of experience. He is a Graduate Facilitator in Theme Centered Interaction (TCI) by Ruth Cohn Institute for TCI International, Berlin and also a Certified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner.
The participants were the Deans, HoDs and Faculty Members of the Computer Science discipline from various higher education institutions across the country. Around 1200 educators from 275+ HEIs participated and benefitted from the 7-day sessions.
The 7-day National level Online Faculty Development Program on Outcome Based Education commenced at 7 pm on 18th January.
The Programme was Inaugurated by Dr Rajan Gurukkal (Vice Chairman, KSHEC) in the presence of Dr Rajan Varghese (Member Secretary, KSHEC) Dr. Saji Gopinath ( Vice Chancellor, Digital University) and other dignitaries.
During the inauguration, Dr. Dominic Thomas,(Principal, SES College) gave a Welcome speech and an Introductory address to all the dignitaries and resource persons. Dr Rajan Varghese (Member Secretary, KSHEC) gave a presidential address and Dr.Rajan Gurukkal (Vice Chairman, KSHEC) delivered an inaugural address.
An Overview of the FDP and the details on the mode was delivered by Dr. Mendus Jacob (Professor & Director MCA, Marian College, Kuttikkanam(Autonomous)).
The keynote address was given by Dr. Saji Gopinath, (Vice-Chancellor, Digital University, Kerala). Finally, Dr Sajeesh T J, Assistant Professor and HoD, Department of Commerce, IQAC Coordinator, gave the vote of thanks.
On Day 1 A Session on Outcome based education in the World of Disruption was conducted by Dr. Saji Gopinath
On Day 2, The session was on Learning Domains which Dr.Sunil Job handled.
After the session, a lesson activity regarding the topic handled was provided in the LMS.
A padlet tutorial was given to the participants and a padlet task on Bloom’s Taxonomy levels was also given during the session.
On Day 3, The session was on OBE and Formulation of Outcomes and Assessment Designs and Mapping Outcomes. Dr Sunil Job handled both sessions.
A workshop task was given in the LMS on Course outcome and Quality check. Some MCQs and a Padlet task on Course Outcomes were given.
The Day 4 session was handled by Dr. Namboothiri on OBE – The Underlying Threads.
The Day 5 session was handled by Dr.Mendus Jacob on the Calculation of Attainment in OBE and another session on Analytics Reports and Tools for Accreditation.
A task on CO Computation Prototype Model was given in order to familiarize the participants with the automated CO calculation and Analysis with respect to set targets.
On Day 6, the session was handled by Dr Joby Cyriac on Teaching to Learning -A Paradigm Shift.
A task on innovative practices in teaching and Learning was given in the LMS for the participants, which was optional.
On Day 7 session was handled by Dr Binu Thomas on Immersive Technologies for OBE Implementation.
At the end of the session, a valedictory function was held. During the function the concluding remarks were given by Dr.Mendus Jacob, the valedictory message was rendered by Dr. Priya K. Nair and finally, the vote of thanks was rendered by Dr. Dhanya A.C.
Feedback on the overall experience of the FDP session was conducted through a Mentimeter poll at the end of the session. Some questions were asked which the participants polled in the Mentimeter.
