The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Thiruvalla, successfully organized a One-Day National-Level Workshop on Demystifying Outcome Based Education (OBE) in association with ipsr solutions limited on 11th January 2025 at Pushpagiri College of Nursing, Thiruvalla, Kerala. The workshop aimed to empower educators with the knowledge and tools required to implement OBE effectively in alignment with modern accreditation standards and the National Education Policy (NEP).
Inaugural Ceremony and Welcome Address
The event commenced with a formal inauguration and welcome address. Distinguished dignitaries and academic leaders graced the occasion:
- Dr. Vikram Gowda N. R. (Vice Principal – Admin, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre) inaugurated the workshop.
- Rev. Fr. Aby Vadakumthala (Director, Pushpagiri College of Nursing) delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation in nursing education.
- Prof. Mrs. Vineetha Jacob (Principal, Pushpagiri College of Nursing) welcomed participants and highlighted the urgency of adopting OBE frameworks to meet global educational standards.
Resource Person and Contributions
The workshop featured Dr. Mendus Jacob, an acclaimed academician, entrepreneur, Director, MCA Programme, Marian College Kuttikanam and former Director of School of Applicable Mathematics at MG University. With over 35 years of experience in OBE, accreditation, and curriculum design, Dr. Jacob’s sessions were both theoretical and practical.
- Bloom’s Taxonomy and Learning Domains: Aligning cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains with OBE.
- OBE Architecture: Designing and mapping program outcomes, course outcomes, and assessment strategies.
- Attainment Calculation: Tools for analyzing outcome achievement and preparing accreditation reports.

Workshop Conclusion
The event concluded with a valedictory session where participants received Certificates of Participation. Mr Renji George John, one of the faculty members, received gift as a token of appreciation for his active feedback and participation. in the session. Rev. Fr. Aby Vadakumthala and Prof. Mrs. Vineetha Jacob commended Dr. Mendus Jacob’s expertise and the active engagement of the participants.Prof Renjini Devi S delivered the vote of thanks.
